Medical Services provides primary care services, from wellness visits, treatment of chronic conditions, routine and urgent medical care, travel medicine, immunizations, sexual and reproductive health services, LGBTQ health care, confidential HIV testing and more.

- In an emergency, call CUEMS/Public Safety at 212-854-5555 if you are on or near campus, or dial 911 if you are off-campus.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) supports the psychological and emotional well-being of students through a variety of services including individual counseling, support groups, referral services and workshops.
Students who wish to schedule an appointment with CPS can do so on their Patient Portal or by calling 212-854-2878.
Please note only students who have who have paid the full Columbia Health and Related Services Fee are eligible for individual counseling with CPS
CPS also provides the following services:
- Support Groups - Open to Columbia students on the Morningside/Manhattanville campus who have paid the full Columbia Health and Related Services Fee. There are in person an virtual options.
- Urgent Mental Health Drop In - Walk-in sessions if you are experiencing high levels of distress. Mondays - Thursdays from 5:30 - 8:00 PM (check-in closes at 7:30 PM) at Lerner 502
- Problem Solving - Brief session to talk about an everyday life concern impacting emotional well-being. See available hours and locations.
If you are experiencing an urgent mental health concern, please call CPS immediately at 212-854-2878, available 24/7. A clinician will assess your concern and recommend the next steps for your care.
Alice! Health Promotion offers health education appointments and skill building programs. Alice! staff are available to talk with students about their health questions and how to access resources. Alice! is a confidential resource and the staff respect and protect the privacy of all conversations. Conversations are solution-oriented and not about therapy or giving medical advice — rather, they are meant to help connect students with information and resources to make informed decisions regarding a broad range of health-related topics.

- Health Education Visits are available during virtual drop-in hours or students can request an appointment.
- Sexual & Reproductive Health services with GHAP/WHAP (Gay/Women’s Health Advocacy Project) are available during in-person and virtual drop-in hours. Appointments available by request.
- BASICS—Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students—is a program designed to assist students in examining their drinking and other drug-use behavior in a judgment-free environment.
Wellness Coaching - Wellness Coaching partners you with a certified Well-being Advocate to co-create your wellness plan. You can meet with your Well-being Advocate as many times as you need to celebrate wins, troubleshoot challenges, and stay on track with your plan.
Wellness Coaching sessions are confidential and HIPAA-compliant. All sessions are offered virtually, unless otherwise requested.
Individual Wellness Coaching & Group Wellness Coaching are available.
- Go Ask Alice! - a website that allows anonymous readers to submit health related questions on a number of different health topics.
Disability Services (DS) facilitates equal access for students with disabilities by coordinating accommodations and support services.
You can schedule a virtual drop in appointment to consult with their staff regarding accomodations, registration for services or questions related to your current accomodations. Sexual Violence Response (SVR) provides trauma informed, confidential support through crisis counseling, advocacy, prevention and outreach focused on interpersonal harassment and violence.
SVR Lerner is available onsite for walk-ins on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. They also offer virtual appointments daily until 5:00 PM. Please call 212-854-3500 to schedule a virtual appointment.
Support examples include:
- Assisting survivors and co-survivors of sexual, intimate partner, and gender-based violence by helping them navigate resources within and outside of the University
- Accompanying survivors to off campus locations such as New York Police Precincts, Local hospitals, Court, and other support services locations on and off campus.
- Exploring survivor rights and options while also supporting their individual choices
- Connecting survivors with support services that they, together with the survivor, identify as being helpful to the survivor's emotional, psychological, familial, residential, and spiritual well-being.
- Cross-collaboration with other Columbia departments and student groups to facilitate events, workshops and trainings tailored to specific communities across campus

The Food Pantry at Columbia is available to any student who has any level of food insecurity. The Food Pantry serves all currently registered students across Columbia’s 21 schools, colleges, and affiliates. Simply register online and place your order - there are no other criteria or financial requirements.

The University’s Title IX Office works to ensure that Columbia’s programs and classrooms are accessible to all pregnant students. This includes students experiencing any pregnancy-related condition for which they may need accommodations, including pregnancy, fertility treatments, and medical conditions related to miscarriage.

Ombuds Office provides a safe space for faculty, students, staff and affiliates to confidentially discuss work-related issues, academic concerns, clarification of policies and many other concerns and issues.

The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) In the summer of 2024, the University established the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE). OIE serves as a centralized resource for addressing all reports of discrimination and discriminatory harassment, including reports that involve alleged violations of Title VI and Title VII, reports that involve alleged violations of Title IX and the University’s Gender Based Misconduct Policy, as well as reports that relate to violations of the Protection of Minors Policy. OIE is responsible for reviewing, investigating, and managing all incidents from inception through resolution whether the Respondent is a student, faculty, staff member, or affiliate.

The Office of the University Chaplain (OUC) and Office of Religious Life supports individual faiths of Columbia University's diverse community of scholars, students and staff from many different faith traditions while promoting interfaith and intercultural understanding.
