SPS Student Government

The mission of the SPS Student Government (SPSSG) is to create a unified community for all students across SPS programs. The SPSSG is elected by their peers to represent each master's program as well as the student body at large and advocates for student interests before the SPS administration, faculty, alumni, and the greater Columbia University Community.

SPSSG is essential to the continuance of high standards of academic excellence and professional leadership, while also providing representation and engaging programming. Elections for SPSSG are held every Fall and Spring semester and all students are encouraged to campaign and/or vote.

Goals

Central to the efforts of the SPSSG are the following:

Providing an open forum for students to express their diverse views;
Advocating for and acting on behalf of the interests of the student;
Focusing its time and efforts on matters that directly impact the student body;
Enhancing the campus and community intellectually, socially, and culturally through the funding and development of student organizations and events.
