Annabelle Swenson

Annabelle Swenson is a graduate student in the School of Professional Studies (SPS), where she is earning a Master of Science in Narrative Medicine. She graduated from Colorado College with a BA in Molecular Biology, and is pursuing a career in medicine. Her interdisciplinary background in science, research, and the humanities have shaped her interest in how storytelling can foster more compassionate and patient-centered healthcare experiences.

These same principles guide her leadership. During her three semesters at Columbia, Annabelle has served in various positions in the SPS Student Government, where she seeks to amplify the voices of students across SPS. As Vice President of Internal Affairs, she seeks to center one on one communication and connection to support program representatives and their communities.

She also serves on the Executive Board for the Grad Network at Columbia/Barnard Hillel, and co-created the inaugural Pre-Health Club, and leverages her knowledge of the Columbia ecosystem to think critically about issues students face. In her free time, she loves running triathlons, watching Ted Lasso, and playing Bananagrams.
