On-Campus Residencies in New York City

Our students come from all over the world and therefore tailor their IKNS experience to their individual needs – ranging from a mostly online to a mostly on-campus experience. To provide opportunities for networking and community building as part of your studies, all students come together on Columbia’s campus for in-person Residencies: For example, a Residency as part of the Foundations course (1st semester) or during the final Capstone Project. These multi-day Residencies offer curated, block- programming to apply theory to practice and maximize networking opportunities among students, faculty, alums, and capstone sponsors.

Welcoming International Students

International students are welcome and can complete the IKNS degree as a full time student on an F-1 Visa. Students are responsible for ensuring you have read and understand the University’s student visa application eligibility and requirements. You can customize your course selection to meet the relevant on-campus instruction requirements for full time status. Internship courses for CPT (Curricular Practical Training) are available. The IKNS Master of Science degree is STEM-accredited, enabling you to automatically gain practical work experience in the US for up to 3 years following your degree (OPT).
