Degree Program Qualifications
- U.S. bachelor’s degree or international equivalent. If your post-secondary credentials are from an institution outside the United States, the Office of Admissions requires you to submit all post-secondary credentials (undergraduate and graduate) to World Education Services, Inc. (WES), a third-party verification agency for a course-by-course evaluation for admission consideration. The Office of Admissions will use the credential evaluation provided by WES to determine if your undergraduate degree is the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree.
- Students must be comfortable with rapid and idiomatic spoken English. Please review the English language proficiency details under the Application Requirements section to determine if proof of English language proficiency is required. Applicants who are required to provide test scores must submit a current TOEFL iBT or IELTS score report and have a minimum score of 100 on the TOEFL iBT or receive a 7.0 or higher on the IELTS. - Two or more years of work experience suggested.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.
Wealth Management Advancing Diversity Fellowship
For Incoming Fall 2025 Students
Admitted applicants to the Wealth Management M.P.S. program for the 2025-2026 academic year may be eligible for a partial or full-tuition fellowship. Columbia University's Wealth Management Advancing Diversity Fellowship is designed to retain and help accelerate the careers of high-caliber professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the wealth management industry and may have experienced and overcome adversity.
To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must first apply to the Wealth Management M.P.S. program for entry in Fall 2025. Once the application to the program is submitted, a link to the optional fellowship application will be emailed to you.
To be considered for the Wealth Management Advancing Diversity Fellowship, completed fellowship applications must be submitted to the M.P.S. in Wealth Management program by June 1, 2025. Only students who are admitted to the M.P.S. in Wealth Management program will be considered for the fellowship. The fellowship recipient(s) will be announced by early July. Center for Financial Planning Scholarships
The Center for Financial Planning administers scholarship programs to enable qualified individuals to start or complete the education requirement for attaining CFP® certification. Explore their scholarship programs at centerforfinancialplanning.org.
SPS Fellowships
The School of Professional Studies provides a limited amount of merit-based fellowship funding to new students each year. Merit-based fellowship funding is assessed on the basis of the application submitted for admission. No fellowship application is required and no supplementary materials may be submitted for consideration. All admitted applicants are considered for merit-based fellowship awards during the admissions cycle.
