SPS Alumni Give Back to Current Students at a Recent Career Design Lab Event

This fall, SPS Career Design Lab in collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations and SPS Student Government hosted Student Alumni Networking Night. Over a 100 students and alumni attended the event where they heard from SPS Student Government leaders and Kelly Ahn, associate dean of the Career Design Lab. The students and alumni had the opportunity to enjoy refreshments while learning about career interests and journeys.

SPS alumni offered current students career advice from their personal and professional experiences, including leveraging resources and networks from professional associations. They emphasized the importance of expanding connections within their desired fields, maintaining an active presence on platforms like LinkedIn, and taking on leadership roles in School clubs or group projects to strengthen their professional profiles. Alumni also encouraged students to explore diverse career paths through experiential opportunities and to actively engage with the School's alumni network.

“Events like these are a great way to connect current SPS students to SPS alumni to help build their career network,” said Ahn. “Students get first-hand guidance from recent alums on how to translate their SPS education into fantastic jobs.”

The next Student Alumni Networking Night is scheduled for the spring semester.
