Alexandra M. Merceron

Lecturer, Strategic Communication; Executive Vice President, Communication Science & Insights, Rubenstein

Alexandra Merceron is a communications professional and educator with more than 25 years of experience. She specializes in helping organizations meaningfully engage audiences, across channels and platforms and navigate the ever-changing digital landscape.

Currently, she is the Executive Vice President, Communication Science & Insights at RUBENSTEIN, the renown strategic communications and reputation management firm, where she leads research, messaging, DEI, culture, and training initiatives. Before joining RUBENSTEIN, she worked with a diverse array of media, for-profit and non-profit organizations, including the FDA, National Academy of Medicine, The Intersector Project, Harvard Business ReviewThe Boston Globe, New York Times, and Billboard Magazine., among others. 

Alex is also an award-winning educator, with 13 years of experience preparing the next generation of communications professionals. Since 2017, she has been a Lecturer at Columbia University, and previously taught at Georgetown University, Queens University of Charlotte, Johns Hopkins University, Boston University, and the University of Connecticut. 

She’s also an active member of numerous academic and professional organizations including the National Communication Association (NCA), Association for Educators in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC), ColorComm, and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Her research on the effects of emerging communication technology has been published in the Journal of Social Media in Society, Journal of Communication and Media Research, and Computers in Human Communication.
