Rod Aday

Chief Information Security Officer, Bank of China, USA

Rod Aday is the Chief Information Security Officer for Bank of China, USA.

Previously, he was the Chief Strategy Officer for Mercury Risk and Compliance Inc (MRCI), a cybersecurity start-up. At MRCI he partnered with the co-founders to create the company’s vision, communicate the plan with all those involved, execute business initiatives, and sustain implementation efforts. He also analyzed market share and sought out important ventures, potential targets and other partnership opportunities.

Previously Rod was the Director, Information Risk Management (IRM) for Verizon where he was responsible for the IRM function across all the Verizon groups.

As a CISO in the financial services sector, Rod built Information Security and Business Continuity Programs from the ground up at three different financial institutions, bringing their cybersecurity maturity to the level appropriate for each institution’s risk profile and in-line with regulatory guidance. He earned his Master of Science in Information Security from the University of London. Rod holds a CISSP certification as well as the concentrations CISSP-ISSAP and CISSP-ISSMP. He is on the MRCI Advisory Board, Evanta NY & NJ CISO Governing Body, the SecureWorld NYC Governing Body and is also an Advisory Board Member for Apex Assembly.
