Degree Program Qualifications
- U.S. bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
If your post-secondary credentials are from an institution outside the United States, the Office of Admissions requires you to submit all post-secondary credentials (undergraduate and graduate) to one of the following third-party verification agencies, World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), or The Evaluation Company (TEC, formerly SpanTran) for a course-by-course evaluation for admission consideration. The Office of Admissions will use this evaluation to determine if your undergraduate degree is the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree. - Students must be comfortable with rapid and idiomatic spoken English.
Please review the English language proficiency requirements under the Application Requirements here to determine if proof of English language proficiency is required. - Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and analysis.
- While at least 2 to 3 years of industry experience is ideal, applicants with less experience who have worked in family businesses or through internships are encouraged to apply.
- Students interested in the Construction concentration must also be approved by the Department of Civil Engineering at Columbia Engineering, as the concentration involves specialized coursework in collaboration with that department. We encourage interested students to indicate their preference early and work with the advising team to ensure they meet the necessary academic prerequisites and departmental approvals.
