MS Information & Knowledge Strategy (IKNS): Application process, requirements, and deadlines

Admission to IKNS is highly competitive. We therefore encourage you to apply as soon as possible. We review applications on a rolling basis: Once we have all your application materials, you will receive a decision within 6-8 weeks. That means, the sooner you submit your application, the sooner you receive a decision to plan your life accordingly.

IKNS Application Requirements At a Glance

  • U.S. bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
If your post-secondary credentials are from an institution outside the United States, the Office of Admissions requires you to submit all post-secondary credentials (undergraduate and graduate) to one of the following third-party verification agencies for a course-by-course evaluation: World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), or The Evaluation Company (TEC, formerly SpanTran). We will use this evaluation to determine if your undergraduate degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and analysis.
  • Substantial work and leadership experience in an area relevant to IKNS (combined across full time work, internships, or research projects).
  • Holistic approach to admission decisions.
The Admissions Committee reviews each candidate holistically. With the exception of the requirements for a bachelor's/equivalent degree and the language test scores, no application is rejected based on any individual criterion alone.
  • Students must be comfortable with rapid and idiomatic spoken English.
Please review the English language proficiency requirements under the Application Requirements here to determine if proof of proficiency is required.
