Listen In: SCOM Alum Bennie Johnson Launches AIGA Design Adjacent Podcast

Bennie F. Johnson, '14SPS, Strategic Communication, Executive Director for AIGA Design, recently started the AIGA Design Adjacent, a podcast sharing the brilliance of Johnson's guests through conversations with leaders in design.

"Alongside the popular AIGA Fireside Chats, this new podcast will explore groundbreaking topics shaping our future. Design can power the future and this podcast takes a surprising look at the ways in which design is helping to build a better future," writes AIGA's website. Over a hundred years forward, AIGA is still highly recognized for its efforts to "advance design as a professional craft, strategic advantage, and vital cultural force."

Published every other Tuesday, this podcast covers a wide range of topics around design and intersecting with legal, cutting-edge technology such as blockchain, and strategy. The latest series highlighted an interview with Abby Allen, the Founder of Neon Butterfly. Upcoming episodes include conversations with Dominic Grijalva, a designer who primarily works on marketing and advertising projects that call for eye-catching imagery, W. David Hubbard, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Verizon, and Isaiah Steinfeld, Entrepreneur and Founder Fellow, On Deck.

Bennie F. Johnson is the Executive Director of AIGA, a professional association for design. He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer at The Council of Better Business Bureaus and managing director of 304 York, a strategy and brand development firm specializing in accelerating businesses in startup and re-launch environments. In addition, as the former head of Global Marketing and Business Development for the HR Certification Institute, Johnson led the organization's global strategic marketing, brand management, market research, public relations, strategic alliance, retention, and acquisition marketing efforts.
