The program does not require technical expertise, although many students do come from technology-related backgrounds. It is designed for individuals who have an interest in managing technology at an executive level.
They work for organizations in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, nonprofit, insurance, banking and finance, media, advertising, law, energy, hospitality, government, and entertainment. A few examples include Pfizer, Bank of America, HP, and IBM. Many of our students and graduates are also successful entrepreneurs. Our alumni profiles illustrate how some individuals are applying their degrees.
The M.S. in Technology Management is an immediately applicable, specialized program that develops specific capabilities to drive business performance through the use of technology. MBAs focus more on general business and leadership principles.
The Executive M.S. in Technology Management is designed to accommodate individuals with full-time careers. During the accelerated 16-month time period, students begin each semester by attending a 5-day in-person residency in New York and then complete the rest of their courses online. Explore the Curriculum and Schedules & Dates pages for more information about the program’s format and timing.
Each Student in the Executive M.S. program is exclusively selected by a mentor to work on a Master’s Project. This direct and one-on-one mentorship takes place from the beginning of the Program to the completion of the Master’s Project, during which time the mentor will meet with the student once a month to provide advice and support. The Mentor develops and strengthens the student’s Master’s Project into a business plan that ultimately produces a portable professional asset.
