Logos
Our logo conveys the prestige of a Columbia University education and visually clarifies the relationship between SPS and the University as a whole.
Logo Symbol
Columbia’s crown is our logo symbol, reflecting the university’s 250+ years of academic excellence while celebrating the leading educators, leading-edge practitioners and standout students that make up SPS.
Logotype
Our logotype is set in Trajan and Garamond, in accordance with university branding guidelines. This logotype is used across the university and should not be altered or changed.
Primary
Our primary logo should be the default logo for all applications, wherever possible. It is especially important to lead with this logo in applications for external audiences. This includes but is not limited to the media, industry partners and the general public or for any other audience who is not familiar with SPS.
Simplified
The simplified logo is appropriate for use with internal audiences in applications where the primary or abbreviated logo would be illegible. Because the simplified logo does not contain the school’s full name, it should be avoided in applications for external audiences.
Small Space
Our small space logo is comprised of our logo symbol and “SPS” in type. This logo can be applied where space is extremely limited or in layouts where the full name of the school is nearby. Since the small space logo does not clearly convey our relationship to Columbia University, and does not use the school’s full name, it shouldn't be used on its own.

Small Space Logo
Clear Space and Minimum Size
Clear Space
Prevent anything from touching or crowding our logo to protect its clarity and integrity. The clear space is the height of the “o” in Columbia in the logotype.
Minimum Size
If the logo is too small, letters and details will begin to appear incomplete or broken. Keep the logo legible by always using it in sizes equal to or greater than a width of 1.50” for print, and 150px for digital applications.
As we elevate our reputation, our logo is one of our most important visual assets. Our logotype should never be recreated, and our logo symbol should never be altered. Instead, the logo should be treated as artwork and should not be modified under any circumstances.
