Welcome to the Spring 2024 Semester

Dear Member of the SPS Community:

Welcome to the Spring 2024 semester at Columbia University! For those of you who are joining us for the first time, I extend an extra warm welcome. We are thrilled to have you join our special School of Professional Studies community.

Today, as always, the School is committed to supporting a diverse community of faculty, students, and staff, while expanding the reach and impact of an Ivy League education so that more students can excel in their careers. The students who attend SPS embody our mission, and I am continually impressed by their professionalism, spirit, and compassion.

As we look forward to another year of challenges and discoveries, we're reflecting on our University as an extraordinary place filled with extraordinary people. Let us move forward together this semester by engaging others with empathy and dedicating ourselves to the work of learning.

While we welcome everyone back, we are already preparing for graduation. I am happy to announce that SPS Graduation will take place on May 10. In the coming weeks, the Office of Student Life will share more details about graduation events.

As we jump into the new semester, I hope you will work hard, get to know your SPS community members better, and most of all, be kind. Best of luck!

Sincerely,
Troy
