Mark Hildreth

Mark Hildreth is an Assistant Vice President at McKissack & McKissack, the oldest minority- owned construction firm in the United States. With over 13 years of project management experience on both public and private projects, he specializes in managing unique and architecturally complex projects across the cultural, educational, commercial, and hospitality sectors in New York City and previously Washington D.C.
For the past five years, Mark has taught the Elementals of Construction Management course, which covers the foundational aspects of construction. This course bridges theoretical concepts with practical applications, emphasizing the “why” behind the skills essential for effective project management.
An alumnus of Columbia University’s master’s program in construction administration, Mark also holds an undergraduate degree in building construction with a minor in real estate from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the CMAA Metro NY/NJ Chapter and the founding President of the Columbia School of Professional Studies CMAA Student Chapter. Additionally, he serves as the faculty advisor to the Construction Administration Student Association (CASA) and is a LEED Green Associate pursuing LEED AP BD&C accreditation.
Mark has been recognized by Commercial Observer as one of the Top 20 Under 35 for Architects, Engineers, and Construction Professionals and he received the Distinguished Young Professional Award from CMAA, honoring his commitment to the industry and outstanding
professional accomplishments.
Research and teaching interests include historical preservation, cultural world heritage sites, sustainability, and equality in construction.
