Jill LaLonde

Faculty, Nonprofit management; OneVillage Partners, Executive Director

Jill LaLonde is a seasoned nonprofit executive and strategic advisor with nearly two decades of experience in global development and mission-driven leadership. She specializes in organizational strategy, governance, operational scaling, and strengthening institutions to deliver durable, locally grounded impact and sustainability.

LaLonde serves in senior leadership and advisory roles across multiple organizations, including as Fractional Chief Operating Officer at Cova, Interim Executive Director through Mighty Consulting, and a strategic advisor on project-based governance and organizational strategy. Her work emphasizes operational excellence as a foundation for impact, building the organizational systems, accountability structures, and leadership capacity required to translate vision into sustained results. LaLonde focuses on how the global development sector is adapting in the post-USAID landscape, and on strengthening the alignment between funding systems, evidence, and local leadership. She frequently speaks and writes on sector transformation and new operating models to center proximate voices.

Previously, LaLonde served as Executive Director of One Village Partners, leading a period of significant strategic growth that more than doubled the organization’s staff and revenue and expanded programming to reach 20 times more individuals. In that role, she guided multi-year planning, board development, fundraising, and cross-border team leadership. Earlier in her career, her work ranged from Gates-funded public health research in Northern Uganda to managing complex USAID-funded programs across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. She has worked extensively with cross-cultural teams and geographies, with a concentration in Sub-Saharan Africa.

LaLonde serves on the Governing Council for Catalyst Now and the Global Assembly for the Movement for Community-Led Development.

LaLonde is an Adjunct Lecturer and Student Advisor at Columbia University in the Master of Nonprofit Management program, where she teaches Nonprofit Scope and Impact. She has developed and taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in international development and nonprofit management.
