Jill LaLonde

Jill LaLonde is the Executive Director of OneVillage Partners (www.onevillagepartners.org), a non-profit organization that uses a community-led development model to put communities at the forefront of improving their own well-being.  In this role, she galvanizes people, partnerships, and resources to execute a multi-faceted organizational strategy to deliver on the organization’s strategic goals.  LaLonde leads a team of 57 staff to implement community-led and sustainable programs in health, education, and livelihoods, impacting 40,000 people annually. 

LaLonde’s areas of expertise include organizational strategy development, governance, board development, fundraising, and team leadership.  She is especially passionate about work and research to “decolonize” aid, and about operationalizing this concept at an organizational level. She is a regular speaker and author highlighting the importance of power shifts within the international development industry, working to envision and execute new operating models to center proximate voices. 

In close to two decades of experience in the non-profit sector, LaLonde's experience has ranged from Gates-funded public health research in Northern Uganda to managing multi-million dollar USAID-funded projects across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.  She has worked extensively with cross-cultural teams and geographies, with a concentration in Sub-Saharan Africa.

LaLonde serves as an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University in the Master of Nonprofit Management program, where she teaches Managing the Mission-Based Organization, and has developed and taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level courses within the fields of international development and nonprofit management.
