Carolyn Caranante, AIA

Carolyn Caranante is an Architect and Project Manager at AECOM Tishman, and Lecturer for the Master of Science in Construction Administration at Columbia University. Carolyn is currently teaching a Master’s course in Advanced Project Management.
Carolyn specializes in managing high rise construction projects in New York. She works closely with designers, owners, and contractors to troubleshoot field issues as they arise, and make design decisions where required. She has managed architectural work on several iconic superstructures including One World Trade Center, Manhattan West, One Vanderbilt, 270 Park Avenue, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Carolyn graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s of Science in Architecture, Engineering and Construction Management. She began her career assisting in the design of sets for daytime television soap operas. Her international work experience includes designing a corporate pavilion for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China and planning the construction of a coal mining plant in Canada. She has also worked locally renovating houses in Staten Island, NY. Carolyn’s interests include creating and restoring artwork for clients, traveling, and consulting on interior design projects.
