Human Capital Management Student and DEI Leader Evelyn Rios Ortiz Interviewed in Latino Leaders Magazine

Evelyn Rios Ortiz is a student in Columbia’s Human Capital Management program and Chief Talent, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer at Zoetis Inc. She was recently interviewed in the January/February 2021 edition of Latino Leaders magazine, in which Zoetis was named one the best companies for Latinos to work for.

Zoetis is a global animal health company that delivers quality medicines and vaccines, complemented by diagnostic products, genetic tests, biodevices and a range of services. “Zoetis’ DE&I focus and commitment begins with their leadership team of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ethnicities (50% of their executive team are women),”  writes Latino Leaders, in Zoetis’ Best Companies listing. “The Talent, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team is led by Evelyn Rios Ortiz, a Latina and experienced business leader.”

Ortiz discusses her efforts to partner with institutions to help diversify the company’s talent pool, her focus on ensuring the company culture is supportive for all, and what makes Zoetis a unique environment for Latinos to thrive. “Very importantly, Zoetis has shared our DE&I aspirations publicly to hold ourselves accountable for increasing the number of Latinx colleagues, and we are making progress,” Ortiz says.
