Javid Huseynov, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Applied Analytics

Dr. Huseynov has over 23 years of experience as a data scientist, product developer, and technology leader working for major companies, including IBM; ESPN, the Walt Disney Company; Mine Safety Appliances, Inc.; and Conexant Systems. His expertise spans diverse areas of data science and engineering, including NLP, machine learning, signal processing, and distributed computing. He has authored articles in reputable scientific publications, holds numerous granted patents in the United States, Canada, Australia, and China.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Huseynov has an extensive academic background. He has received his Ph.D. in Computer Science (2008) from the University of California Irvine, Masters degrees in Computer Science (1999) and Engineering Management (1998) as well as Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (1996) from the Rochester Institute of Technology (NY).

Dr. Huseynov is a fluent speaker of English, Russian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani languages. He has been contributing to the community having served as a city planning commissioner in Fountain Valley, California (2014-2015) and in Hackensack, New Jersey (2017-2019).
