Philip Shilane

Lecturer, Applied Analytics; Distinguished Member Technical Staff, Dell

Philip Shilane is a Distinguished Member Technical Staff for Dell Technologies. Since 2007, he has worked for Dell Technologies (formerly Data Domain and EMC) within a Chief Technology Officer organization on advanced development projects with the goal of bringing new technologies into products. His work has been in the area of computer storage systems, deduplication, compression, data characterization, flash caching, and cloud microservices. He has more than 30 publications in journals and conferences including ACM Transactions on Storage, USENIX Annual Technical Conference, USENIX File and Storage Technologies, and Proceedings of the IEEE. He regularly serves as a program committee member for conferences and is currently an assistant editor for ACM Transactions on Storage. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and an inventor of over 90 US patents.
