Gurgen Haryrapetyan

Lecturer, Applied Analytics; Staff Engineer, Mercedes-Benz Research and Development

Applied mathematician and computer scientist by training, Gurgen Hayrapetyan has held several positions in academia and industry. He is passionate about creating novel ways to combine mathematics, computer science, and analytics to solve complex real-world problems. Most recently, as a Staff Engineer at the Mercedes-Benz Research and Development Center he has been part of a global multidisciplinary team tasked with creating a new intelligent vehicle, making self-driving cars reality.

As a faculty member with the Columbia University School of Professional Studies, he is excited to share his expertise in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence with the students in the Applied Analytics program.

Outside of work he loves traveling the world and learning new languages.
