Morningside Campus/Limited Access

Dr. Shelley Saltzman Receives Lenfest Distinguished Columbia Faculty Award

Shelley Saltzman, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer and full-time faculty member for the American Language Program (ALP), has been honored with the 2017–2018 Lenfest Distinguished Columbia Faculty Award for her outstanding ability to teach, inspire, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

The awards were established by University Trustee Gerry Lenfest LAW’58, ’09HON in 2005 to honor exceptional teaching in the arts and sciences. In addition to Dr. Saltzman, seven other professors from multiple disciplines across the University were awarded.

Dr. Saltzman brings over 25 years of teaching experience to the her courses, specializing in English for Specific Purposes and Advanced Academic Writing. She is also Associate Director for University Partnerships, developing curricula that reach across Columbia’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools to meet the needs of international students.
