Dr. Robert Klitzman Analyzes 104-Year-Old's Doctor Assisted Suicide

Dr. Robert Klitzman, Director of the Master of Science in Bioethics program, was recently featured on NBC Nightly News discussing David Goodall’s decision to end his life by doctor assisted suicide at age 104.

The Australian scientist chose to end his life at a clinic in Switzerland, igniting new debate about doctor assisted suicide. “I no longer find much joy in life. Even at the age of 90, I was enjoying life, but not now,” Goodall said.

“I think this death will increase awareness and discussion of the issues,” Dr. Klitzman told NBC. “I’m not sure it’s going to change the policy in many states and countries that are now firmly against it.”
