Klitzman on IVF and Choosing a Child’s Sex

Robert Klitzman, the program director of the Bioethics graduate program, was quoted in Vogue speaking about bioethical issues that may arise when parents choose the sex of their baby.

Recently, model Chrissy Teigen and her husband, singer John Legend, sparked a debate when they announced they had picked the sex of their daughter, who had been conceived through IVF. Here's Dr. Klitzman's take:

“We’re developing these technologies, and it’s important for people to be aware that these larger issues are going to become increasingly present. This should be an opportunity to think about the larger issues, rather than this particular person.”
