Carla Varriale-Barker

Carla Varriale-Barker is a Shareholder in the New York office of Segal McCambridge Singer and Mahoney, Ltd. and the Chair of the firm’s Sports, Recreation and Entertainment Practice Group and has litigated cases for Major League Baseball teams and players, minor league teams, and various clients in the recreation and sports industries. 

Varriale-Barker has won dispositive motion victories in cases involving injuries arising out of promotional activities at sporting venues. She writes and lectures on issues of interest to sports, recreation, and entertainment venues. In her practice, she counsels entities with self-insured retentions regarding methods to minimize exposure and the development of successful risk management and litigation strategies, with a focus on security issues. At New York Law School, Varriale-Barker was a member of the Moot Court Executive Board and the Order of the Barristers. Varriale-Barker is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, and before United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She is also a member of the Sports Lawyers Association.
