Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

Columbia University’s Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution prepares students to analyze the root causes and dynamics of conflict and to transform disputes through reasoned and resourceful interventions.

How to Apply

Full-Time Online (with Residency) - Final Spring intake: Spring 2027

  • Application deadline: November 1, 2026
  • Start: Spring 2027 (January)
  • Complete the program in 4 semesters: Spring - Summer - Fall - Spring
  • Graduate as early as May 2028
  • Modality: online & one in-person residency (3 days) on Columbia's New York City campus

The required, on-campus residency consists of 3 days, before the start of the Fall semester. After the required days, students have the option to remain in-person for additional days of programming.

  • REQUIRED Day 1: Monday, August 30, 2027 - Workshop & welcome dinner
  • REQUIRED Day 2: Tuesday, August 31, 2027 -  Workshop & happy hour social
  • REQUIRED Day 3: Wednesday, September 1, 2027 - Workshop
  • OPTIONAL Day 4-5: site visits and NYC activities

Modality Options: Fall Intake

Full-Time On-Campus

  • Modality: in-person on Columbia's New York City campus (some electives may be online)
