Darren Cohen

Lecturer; SVP Carrier Relations and Insurance Strategy, Hilb Group

Darren serves as Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations and Insurance Strategy at the Hilb Group, a national broker with revenue in excess of $500m and serving clients in all 50 states. In this role, he leads efforts to cultivate and maintain partnerships with insurers, maximizing product offerings for clients enterprise-wide. Darren joined Hilb Group in 2020 when his agency, Hiram Cohen & Son, Inc. joined the company.

As the fourth generation in the family business, Darren also oversees the day-to-day operations of Hiram Cohen & Son, manages client relationships, and negotiates complex insurance placements. For more than 25 years, he has focused on successful clients in the areas of real estate, law firms, financial institutions, family offices, retailers and importers. He has developed a detailed knowledge of his clients’ businesses, and crafting insurance programs to meet their needs.

Active in the local community, he is involved in Guiding Eyes for the Blind, an organization that provides guide dogs to those who are visually impaired, and the Windward School for children with language-based learning disabilities. An avid golfer and instrument rated pilot, Darren earned his undergraduate degree from Skidmore College and his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and is admitted to practice law in New York State.

Darren lives in Mamaroneck, New York with his wife and two children.
