Entrepreneur magazine named Columbia SPS alumnus Casey Terrell a Top 50 Franchise CMO Gamechanger, an honor bestowed upon the most influential marketers in franchising. Terrell (’23SPS, Executive Strategic Communication) joined Krystal as its chief marketing officer in summer 2022 and has extensive food and beverage marketing experience with brands such as Anheuser-Busch, Le Pain Quotidien, Outback Steakhouse, and Burger King.
“The Executive M.S. in Strategic Management program at Columbia provided me with the academic research and insights behind the decisions and strategies I’ve implemented in marketing for years,” he said. “The program challenged some of my core beliefs and helped me grow as a marketer and leader. The professors provided real-world examples and the latest academic research on being more effective communicators. I use this knowledge every day running brands.”

The Top 50 Franchise CMO Gamechanger list was released in fall 2022 by Entrepreneur. For 45 years, Entrepreneur has published guides for business leaders, and it currently delivers content across platforms such as podcasts, video, and digital.
About the Program
Columbia University’s Strategic Communication program is designed to respond to the urgent need for strategic perspectives, critical thinking, and exceptional communication skills across all types of organizations. The Executive Path is a sixteen-month graduate program designed to elevate the skills and knowledge base of experienced communication professionals and those in leadership positions across industries. The accelerated format of the part-time, hybrid coursework is ideal for executives who are working full-time and who may be based in or outside the New York City metropolitan area.
