Columbia University’s Technology Management Program Launches Collaboration with Deloitte

This fall, Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies M.S. in Technology Management (TMGT) program launched a new industry collaboration with Deloitte, a global leader in consulting and professional services. This collaboration will connect the program’s academic excellence in technology leadership with Deloitte’s deep international experience in innovation and digital transformation.

“This relationship represents an exciting step forward for the program,” said Shahryar Shaghaghi, director of the M.S. in Technology Management. “By connecting our students with Deloitte’s deep knowledge and broad industry reach, we’re giving them the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge challenges in technology leadership.”

Students can look forward to guest lectures, panels, and workshops featuring Deloitte industry leaders, as well as technology summits, hackathons, and executive roundtables. The organization will also participate in student Capstone projects as reviewers or advisors, offer internship and mentorship opportunities, and co-host recruiting activities and exclusive networking events for students. Deloitte will also provide input on curriculum development, technology research topics of interest, and the program reading list of peer-reviewed studies and industry reports. They will contribute to the annual curriculum review through program boards or advisory councils.

“Working closely with Columbia’s world-class faculty and students will not only allow us to share practical industry experience, but hear student perspectives that will help shape the future of digital transformation,” Joydeep Mukherjee, principal Deloitte Consulting LLP, shared. “We believe this collaboration will have a lasting impact across the field.”

This relationship marks a new chapter in how the TMGT program engages with industry leaders. This model of collaboration will inspire future relationships built on innovation, insight, and real-world impact.
