Nara Altmann, Ph.D.

Lecturer & Alum, Information & Knowledge Strategy (IKNS); Youth Health Coalition

'16SPS, Information & Knowledge Strategy (IKNS)

Nara graduated from Columbia University’s Information and Knowledge Strategy (IKNS) program in 2016. Her Capstone Project consisted of developing a methodology to measure the maturity of Centers of Excellence for Motorola Solutions and provide a roadmap to increase engagement and improve marketing performance. Nara was driven to the program after her experience in engineering showed too many projects failed to deliver or be completed on time or budget due to ineffective collaboration and knowledge sharing. She currently leads a strategy that merges collaboration and use of data analytics to generate share understanding and drive growth towards equity and inclusion in schools for the Youth Health Coalition in Douglas County, Colorado and is a lecturer in Columbia University's IKNS program in the School of Professional Studies. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and a PhD from The University of Queensland in Australia. She has worked in the petrochemical field in Brazil, in research and development in Australia, managed an engineering consultant firm in Chile and lead engineering projects for the mining industry in the US.
