Frequently Asked Questions

 

What should registered guests know about campus access and event check-in?

Registered guests must enter campus at WIEN GATE at 411 West 116th Street and allow additional time for campus access and event check-in. Guests who have not registered in advance and do not have an active Columbia University ID (CUID) will not be permitted on campus. Upon arrival at the gate, all registered guests must show:

  • Active CUID holders: a government-issued ID and active Columbia University ID
  • Non-CUID holders (including all alumni): a government-issued ID and the QR code issued by CU Guest Access prior to the event. This QR code is valid only for this event and the name must match that on the guest’s government-issued ID.

What if I can only attend part of the conference?

Tickets are only available for the full conference. 

 

Where is Faculty House located?

Faculty House is located at 64 Morningside Drive, and may be accessed through the Wien Courtyard gates on 116th Street, between Amsterdam Avenue and Morningside Drive. 

To access Faculty House, enter campus through the gates at 116th and Broadway, then follow College Walk across Amsterdam Avenue towards Morningside Drive. After passing Jerome Greene Hall on the left, enter Wien courtyard through the gates. Follow the courtyard around to the right. Faculty House will be the last building on the right. Subway

Take the #1 train to 116th Street (Columbia University) stop.

 

Bus

Four bus lines (M4, M11, M5 and M104) serve the Columbia/Morningside Heights area. View a city bus map.

 

Car

From South
1. Exit the Henry Hudson Parkway at 96th Street and proceed east, crossing Broadway, and turn left (north) at the next light, Amsterdam Avenue.
2. Proceed north on Amsterdam for 20 blocks to campus.
3. In addition to street parking on Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue (metered), on Morningside Drive and on side streets, there is a garage on 114th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue (close to Amsterdam) on the south side of the street.

From North
1. Exit the Henry Hudson Parkway at 125th Street and proceed east, crossing Broadway, and turn right (south) at the next light, Amsterdam Avenue.
2. Proceed south on Amsterdam for nine blocks to campus.
