Naila Ramji, MD, FRCSC, MSc

Speaker; Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dalhousie University; Cross-Appointee Dept of Bioethics, Dalhousie University

Dr. Naila Ramji is originally from Montreal and currently works as a high-risk pregnancy specialist in Fredericton, New Brunswick (Canada), and is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University, with cross-appointment in the department of Bioethics. She graduated from the Columbia Bioethics Masters program in 2019. She is involved with clinical research on maternal obesity, stillbirth and ultrasound markers in twin and triplet pregnancies. Her work in bioethics includes the bioethics of uterine transplantation, difficult decision-making and optimal clinical counseling in high-risk pregnancies, and how to translate limited evidence into clinical practice. She is currently collaborating with one of her colleagues from the Masters program to examine the issue of medical assistance in dying in pregnancy.
