Lorraine Charbonnier

Junior Professional Officer, Peace and Security, UN System Staff College (UNSSC)

Lorraine is a Junior Professional Officer in the Peace and Security Team of the UN System Staff College (UNSSC), focusing on the application human security approach and conflict analysis in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustaining Peace resolutions.

She is co-author of the UNSSC Conflict Analysis Handbook (2016) and editor of the Italian versions of the SIPRI Yearbook Summary as well as of the Italian online journal Human Security, published quarterly by the think tank T.wai, the Torino World Affairs Institute.

Prior to joining the UNSSC, Lorraine collaborated with NGOs in Italy, India and Guatemala. She also worked as a Junior Research Fellow and Programme Officer at T.wai, managing the summer school, “Engaging Conflict: Prevention, Management and Resolution.”

Lorraine holds an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Turin and is now a Ph.D. candidate in the War Studies Department at King’s College London.
