Diana Pineda

Alumni, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution; Partner, Gonzalez Calvillo

Diana has over 13 years of experience in energy matters, oil & gas projects, litigation, and dispute resolution. She is a partner at Gonzalez Calvillo, one of the largest Mexican independent firms, focusing her legal practice in the development of oil and gas projects in Mexico, including complex regulatory matters and negotiation contracts on behalf of her clients.

In 2020, she was elected member of the firm’s Talent Committee, which focuses on talent management within the firm, including recruiting, career development, diversity and inclusion, among other matters.

Prior to joining the firm, she was General Counsel at Silver Fuels, Inc., a trading firm based in Houston and Mexico City.

Her experience also includes working as a Legal Researcher at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, focused on sustainable foreign investment, in New York, United States.

Before focusing her practice on energy, oil & gas, Diana spent five years in litigation and dispute resolution of commercial, administrative, and constitutional matters.

She is an active member of several organizations that advocate for women’s professional advancement, including Women’s Energy Network, AbogadasMx, Voz Experta, and co-founder of a group that sponsors women in the energy sector.

In December 2020, she was awarded the Chambers & Partners Diversity and Inclusion award, by the British ranking firm of legal professionals, Chambers & Partners, for her outstanding contribution to diversity & inclusion in Mexico’s legal industry.

She is an alumna of the NECR program, class of 2014.
