Morningside Campus/Limited Access

Effective immediately, access to the Morningside campus has been limited to students residing in residential buildings on campus (Carman, Furnald, John Jay, Hartley, Wallach, East Campus and Wien) and employees who provide essential services to campus buildings, labs and residential student life (for example, Dining, Public Safety, and building maintenance staff). *Denotes elective course. Students are required to complete 4 elective courses (12 points/credits) in addition to required core courses. Students have the flexibility to choose from over 45 pre-approved electives from across Columbia University. In addition to 6 elective courses designed and taught by IKNS faculty, these pre-approved electives include courses from the Columbia Business School, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS), the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), the Mailman School of Public Health, and the School of Professional Studies (SPS). Other graduate-level, Columbia University courses that do not appear on the Bulletin of pre-approved electives can be applied towards the degree following departmental review and approval. The Bulletin of pre-approved electives can be viewed here.
