William D. Squires

William (Bill) Squires began his career in the sports and entertainment facilities and event management industry in 1987. During his career, he has managed Yankee Stadium and Giants Stadium on two separate occasions, ESPN's Wide World of Sports, and Huntington Park Field (Cleveland Browns). Bill was hired as ESPN's Wide World of Sports first General Manager and was hired by the Cleveland Browns to open Huntington Park Field (Cleveland Browns) in 1999. Squires was responsible for all aspects of events and operations of these venues.
Squires is a Past President of the Stadium Managers Association, whose members are facility managers from the NFL, MLB, MLS, CFL, motor speedways, colleges/universities, and several international facilities. He also sits on several boards supporting sports and entertainment facilities, as well as the event management industry. He has been teaching the Sports Facilities and Event Management course in the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University since 2007.
Squires is a United States Naval Academy graduate and was an active-duty naval aviator for 12 years before joining the New York Yankees. He served an additional 12 years in the Naval Reserves and retired as a Commander.
