Terry Leitch

Chief Data Scientist, ruxton.ai

Terry Leitch is the founder of Ruxton.ai and Aequum.ai, two companies at the intersection of AI methods development and equity-focused applications. His research focuses on the reliability of predictive models — specifically how errors and omissions in training data propagate through models to corrupt the conclusions that drive real-world decisions in policy, finance, and public administration.

His current work includes a patent-pending framework for simulating the downstream impact of data errors on model conclusions, and EquityChain, a blockchain-based system for transparent equity analysis. Ruxton.ai develops AI methods for inferring protected characteristics from administrative data to enable rigorous equity analysis in contexts including housing policy and public benefits. Aequum.ai builds applied tools to help identify and mitigate systemic disadvantage.

Terry brings 25 years of quantitative finance experience to this work, having served as Senior Director of Risk Management at Boeing, EVP of Global Derivatives at AEGON International, and in senior derivatives roles at Bank of America and ING Barings in London. He developed risk models adopted by the OECD Aviation Working Group and licensed to Marsh & McClennan, and has advised the Export-Import Bank on aviation risk transfer programs.

He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Chicago, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics (Honors) from Northwestern University, an MBA from London Business School, and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Engineering from Columbia University.
