Saba Zahid

Head of Operational Risk, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management

Saba Zahid is the Head of Operational Risk at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

Saba is an experienced risk professional, with over 18 years of experience leading successful risk framework design, governance supervision programs, and implementation in financial services. She has extensive experience in working across First and Second Line of Defense roles. She has held multiple roles at Morgan Stanley spanning across the Wealth Management business, Enterprise Risk, Legal & Compliance as well as Information & Cyber Security.

Prior to her current role, Saba served as Head of the End Users Team in Data Security and Infrastructure Risk for Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, Saba was the Head of the Advisory Business Risk Team within Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley, where she partnered closely with the Advisory and Investment Products businesses as well as Wealth Management Risk teams to establish best practices in proactive risk mitigation.

She chairs the affinity group called 'Women in Risk' and leads a Communication Coaching Program for rising talent within her organization.

Saba previously worked at BNY Mellon as an Information Risk Officer in the Corporate Trust Division building out an information security framework in compliance with NIST regulations.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Enterprise Risk Management from New York University and an undergraduate degree in Finance & Economics with a double minor in Business Communications and Clinical Psychology from Baruch College in New York.

Saba has been a lecturer at Columbia University since 2019.
