Robert Cohen

Robert Cohen, Ph.D. is a senior technology executive with more than 25 years of industry leadership, most notably at Prudential Financial, where he spent six years as Vice President and Global CIO of Technology for Prudential Real Estate Investors.  He has significant experience leading large-scale technology organizations and projects spanning the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia.  In earlier roles at Prudential, he led technology for several business units including Prudential Capital Group and Prudential Wealth Management Solutions.  His academic credentials include  a PhD in Higher Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University, an Executive MBA from Rutgers University, an MS in Computer Science from Montclair State University, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University.

Alongside his industry career, Cohen's academic background includes seven years as a university educator. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall since 2019, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business management, IT project management, computer science, and quantitative/data analytics. He was named Adjunct Professor of the Year by Seton Hall's College of Arts and Sciences in 2026. He also has recent experience teaching in Columbia University's Pre-College Program.  Separately, Cohen led a Project Management Office as an independent consultant guiding Seton Hall's strategic plan (2021–2023) and worked directly with the Provost on organization-wide transformations. Cohen’s scholarship includes a 2026 doctoral dissertation on student-college match and retention for students with disabilities and a 2023 publication on digital strategy, machine learning, and MLOps.
