Qingji Yang

Co-leader of Financial Services Business Consulting for the Americas, EY

Qingji currently serves as the Co-leader of Financial Services Business Consulting for the Americas at EY. With a career spanning over three decades, Qingji has gained extensive experience in management consulting and operational leadership within the financial services industry, encompassing various strategic roles and P&L responsibilities. His journey commenced in academia, where he excelled as a professor and researcher in mathematics before transitioning seamlessly into the consulting industry.

In his role, Qingji oversees a multi-billion-dollar P&L and leads a team of thousands of professionals, delivering integrated consulting services aimed at driving growth, efficiency, transformation, and effective risk management. Under his leadership, the practice offers a comprehensive suite of offerings, including strategic business transformation, finance management, risk management, regulatory compliance, and related data and technology transformation initiatives.

Prior to his current role, Qingji served as the leader of EY Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) for the Americas, a practice that has become a prominent industry brand and leading service provider in risk management, regulatory compliance, financial crime compliance, structured finance, and quantitative advisory services. Before his FSRM leadership role, Qingji also founded and led EY Quantitative Advisory Services (QAS) for the Americas and established it as a market-leading brand in the financial services industry.

Qingji has had the privilege to collaborate with C-suite clients from major financial institutions, including U.S. Global Systemically Important Banks (GSIBs), leading Foreign Banking Organizations (FBOs), and renowned insurance and asset management firms.

Qingji is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As one of the first Chinese professionals promoted to partner at EY in the U.S., he has championed the advancement of minority professionals within the organization, fostering an inclusive environment for growth and development.

In recognition of his exemplary leadership and contributions to the community, Qingji was honored with the Inaugural Ascend Global Leaders Trailblazer Award in 2017, presented by Ascend, the largest Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America.
