Peter Bruzzese

Peter Bruzzese has over 25 years experience in the finance services industry. Peter has worked at US and foreign investment banks, a rating agency, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and a consulting company. During his career, Peter has had first-line business management, first-and second-line risk and operations, and third-line audit experience with Board of Director and C-Suite level engagement.

Currently, Peter is Managing Director/Chief Administrative Officer, Americas (CAO) at UBS. As CAO, Peter designs and implements business operations, metrics and policies that promote company culture and vision. Peter regularly reports to UBS’s US Board of Directors and is a Board Member of UBS Holding Canada, Ltd. Additionally, Peter is founder and chair of both the Environmental, Social and Governance Forum for UBS, Americas and the New Business Initiatives Forum UBS, Americas.

Prior to his current role at UBS, Peter was UBS’s Enterprise-wide Risk Officer where he designed, built, and operated a department that managed risk appetite, regulatory assessments, policies, and governance. Peter also worked on the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) for Risk Control and developed the Risk Control component of the CCAR CFO attestation process.

Peter was previously employed at Deutsche Bank in Audit, where he managed the CCAR audit plan through risk assessment, audit planning, audit reporting, and finding and tracking closure validation. In addition, Peter worked in Group Regulatory Affairs, where he designed and built a UK, EU, APAC and US prudential regulations team and US securities markets assessment team to advise DB’s C-Suite on the strategic impact of regulations. In that capacity, he managed business and operational impact assessments, and policy and strategy advocacy initiatives.

Prior to Deutsche Bank, Peter worked as a Senior Examiner in Bank Supervision at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York during the financial crisis. In that role, Peter helped launch the first CCAR, known at the time as the Supervisory Capital Assessment Program (SCAP). He also worked on the Incentive Compensation Practices Horizontal Review, was a contributing author to President’s Working Group on Securitization Policy, and led and contributed to crisis-based policy initiatives, which have formed the basis for modern financial regulatory environment.

Prior to the Federal Reserve, Peter worked at Standard and Poor’s, where he published credit rating reports and analyses for covered bonds and securitizations. In the wake of the financial crisis, he was a Credit Rating Agency Ambassador to the American Securitization Forum’s Project Restart.
