Masahiro Takino
At-Large Representative
Masahiro Takino (Masa) is honored to serve as the At-Large Representative for Columbia University School of Professional Studies Student Government (SPSSG), as well as the new Co-Chair of the Alumni & Community Engagement committee.
His mission is to give back to the Columbia SPS community that has supported him so much.
He brings three key pillars to this role:
1. Cross-Campus Networking: As a resident of International House, Masa can connect with 700 future global leaders and influential alumni. He aims to break the silos between SPS’s 18 distinct programs and serve as a bridge for powerful cross-school collaborations.
2. Professional Advocacy: Combining his background as a CPA and M&A Financial Advisor with his current MS in Applied Analytics (APAN) studies, Masa will strongly advocate for resources that boost students' career ROI.
3. Empathy & Resilience: Masa knows the student struggle. Due to visa delays, he landed at JFK just 6 hours before his very first class on 9/2/2025. He deeply understands the challenges of international students, and is dedicated to truly listening and resolving student issues collaboratively.
