Mary C. Buhay

Mary C. Buhay is Chief Growth Officer of Ragan Communications, the industry leader in providing professional development, training, and intelligence to communicators, marketers, HR professionals, and business leaders worldwide. In her role, Mary develops communities and stories that connect businesses meaningfully with people whose trust helps to drive growth. 

Mary joined Ragan in 2021 to advance the media company’s learning mission and accelerate growth across its business and networks, including its premier membership community for which she serves as Head of Ragan’s Communications Leadership Council. She is the architect of The Communications Framework™, the industry standard that upholds Ragan’s managed learning system for high-performing communications teams. 

Previously, Mary was Global Director of Growth at Women Presidents Organization (WPO), where she advocated for women leaders to define business success on their own terms. WPO is a collective of women CEOs and presidents at the helms of privately held, multimillion-dollar companies in the second stage of growth (post-startup).

Earlier, she was Senior Vice President of Marketing for G&S Business Communications, a top-15 independent global PR firm based in New York. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at Medialink, a media technology venture where she was a corporate officer on the executive leadership team that launched its Nasdaq-listed IPO and grew its market capitalization to $180 million.

Mary’s work to empower women extends to her writing, micro-investing, and consulting through her advisory firm, which supports women founders, executives, and business owners. She earned a B.A. in general studies, with a visual arts specialization, from Drexel University.
