Maria Massei-Rosato

Maria Massei-Rosato is an executive leader and graduate educator working at the intersection of digital transformation, AI and data strategy, and innovation. 

Maria spent over 20 years leading digital transformation and innovation at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, most recently as Deputy Chief Data Officer, where she built and led cross-functional teams advancing AI, data strategy, and design thinking — work that shaped governance practices adopted across the Federal Reserve System. She launched the Fed's data visualization practice, introduced design thinking to address high-ambiguity challenges, and pioneered an immersive innovation lab for cross-functional teams. She has also worked with the boutique consulting firm, Architects of Group Genius, where they bring adaptive leadership and innovation to organizations. 

As an educator, Maria developed and teaches storytelling with data for the Executive MBA program at the Luiss Business School in Milan and Rome. She developed and taught the class for the MS in Data Visualization at Parsons School of Design and has guest lectured at UC Berkeley and Ecole des Ponts Business School. In addition, she teaches a one-week storytelling class in Amsterdam for students studying for their master’s in Digital Entertainment Business.

She is a cofounder of NavAlytix.AI, which helps C-suite executives align on AI risks and opportunities, and is president of the Board of Directors and heads-up the Strategic Planning & Board Development Committee for Community Mainstreaming Associates, a Long Island nonprofit serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Maria was named to City & State Magazine's 2024 list of the top 50 women in New York for exemplary leadership. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from The New School and a BS in Computer Applications & Information Systems from NYU Stern School of Business.
