Maria (Emilia) Puente

Hello! I’m Emilia, and I've been elected as the Actuarial Science program representative in the SPS Student Government. I’m passionate about actuarial science, having passed two exams and gained over three years of experience in the field. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Finance, with minors in Math and Computer Science. My desire to further my education brought me to New York! Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring the city, cooking, playing padel, and trying new restaurants with friends.

As a social person with strong interpersonal skills, I believe in collaboration and community. I am committed to the goals of SPSSG, which seeks to create a supportive environment across SPS and enhance our academic and social lives at Columbia. I am honored to represent my peers and work together to advocate for the interests of all SPS students, delivering initiatives that enrich our experiences here.
