Marc Mejia

Marc is the Assistant Director of Compliance for ISSO Morningside. In his role, he assists in processing student visa documents and database management. He also works closely with the Student Advising team on matters related to student compliance issues, ensuring that all Columbia international students are fulfilling the requirements needed to maintain their status in the U.S. 

With a background in international student services and advising, Marc initially joined the ISSO as a member of the Student Advising team then transitioned to the Compliance Team. Marc is a first-generation Filipino and grew up in Canada. Therefore, he intimately understands the challenges and rewards of international education, a perspective he lends to his work with the ISSO. 

While Manhattan is often the first borough most explored upon arrival, he recommends exploring Brooklyn next (the borough he now calls home): from Prospect Park to the Smorgasburg food markets.
