Anthropologist specialized in Latin America
Lieke first met Pirañas Crew in 2017, when she attended the event ‘Girls to the Front’ out of interest in her research project. “I was impressed by their powerful socio-political messages and methods, which motivated me to get to know the women better and learn about their practices and motives.” Since then, Lieke has been painting alongside the Pirañas, while pursuing her PhD research on gender relations and power dynamics within Medellín's street art culture.
