Lailah Hall

Lailah Christina Hall is a first-year graduate student in the Master of Science in Sustainability Management (SUMA) program. She recently graduated from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness. Originally from Saint Louis, Missouri, her passion for combating food insecurity stems from experiencing the inequities in the local food system in her hometown.
During her time at FAMU, she served in various roles focused on community development and agricultural innovation, including Region II Undergraduate Student Vice President of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences; President and Charter Member of the FAMU Collegiate Chapter of the Florida Farm Bureau; and Gulf Scholar for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. She also gained valuable experience interning with organizations such as the United States Department of Agriculture, John Deere, Tetra Tech ARD, and the Board for International Food and Agricultural Development (BIFAD).
Lailah currently serves as the Director of Student Engagement for the SUMA Equity Alliance. In her degree program, she plans to focus on corporate social responsibility and its implications for reliable food systems & urban renewal in low-income communities.
