Kevin Visconti, Ph.D.

Dr. Kevin Visconti is the 2018 winner of the Dean’s Excellence Award for Faculty in the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University. Dr. Visconti earned his Ph.D. at the University of Miami, his M.A. at Georgetown University, and his B.S. at New York University. Upon completing his postdoctorate at Northeastern University, Dr. Visconti served as manager of global change management for Bluewolf Group, an IBM company and international technology consulting firm based in Manhattan, working with clients around the world. Most recently, he was program director and lecturer of business communication at Santa Clara University.

Through grant-funded international research (Australia, Austria, and South Africa), Dr. Visconti examines environmental communication and green product marketing as they converge to impact business strategies. His research concentration looks at strategic marketing and communication initiatives around sustainable agricultural practices in international wine markets. Dr. Visconti’s current project investigates the economics of marketing sustainable agriculture in the South African wine industry.

With passion and distinct energy for teaching, Dr. Visconti’s other academic and scholarly pursuits center on designing curricula in traditional, online, and hybrid formats for undergraduate and graduate content. He has been recognized with outstanding faculty awards, research grants, and top conference papers. He is active with the Association of Wine Economics, various Aspen Institute consortia, and Futures Ignite, a nonprofit organization located in the New York City public school system with the purpose of advancing programming, counseling, and advocacy that equips BIPOC students to direct and amplify their college and career futures.

Dr. Visconti is a marathoner, skier, hiker, and soccer player, but his favorite title is Dad.
