Kathy Cage

Kathy Cage is a transformational cybersecurity and technology executive with a distinguished career spanning the U.S. Department of Defense, the private sector, and academia. Currently at Columbia University, she brings real-world insights into the intersection of innovation, governance, and digital modernization.

Kathy’s career has been defined by her ability to lead complex organizations through strategic change. At Morgan Stanley, she served as the Chief Operating Officer for Operational Risk, where she developed and led global teams of technical analysts and implemented IT asset governance frameworks to meet evolving regulatory demands. Her expertise in systems architecture, policy, talent development, and organizational design helped strengthen operational risk coverage in a highly regulated environment.

Previously, as the Chief Information Officer for Army Cyber Command, Kathy directed enterprise architecture for offensive and defensive cyber operations, expanded technical capacity eightfold, and led world-wide initiatives. Kathy also led international cyber transformation initiatives for partner nations. Her leadership in securing classified networks, modernizing communications, and managing multimillion-dollar budgets had a lasting impact on U.S. and allied defense capabilities.

Kathy holds degrees from Columbia University and the U.S. Army War College. She also holds SANS GIAC certifications in Security Leadership Essentials (GSLC) and Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT). She currently serves as an Associate Managing Director at Kroll, advising public and private sector clients on cybersecurity strategy, operational resilience, and digital transformation.
